To date, the GMA program has provided hundreds of millions of dollars in relief to nearly 12,000 homeowners who suffered financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic, helping prevent almost 1,600 foreclosures across the state.
Please be advised that the GMA program will cease accepting new applications on March 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. It’s important to note that the application portal at GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov may close earlier if the time-limited funds are exhausted before the application deadline. All application packages must be submitted before the deadline.
Additionally, please note that several GMA programs will stop accepting applications before the March 2026 program-wide application deadline. The following GMA-specific programs are closing onDecember 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.: • Down payment lien extinguishment under the Principal Curtailment program • Delinquent Association Fees under the Housing Related Expenses program • Delinquent water, gas, and electric utility bills under the Housing Related Expenses program GMA is a limited-funded program, and not all eligible homeowners may receive assistance before funds are exhausted. Applying for GMA does not guarantee assistance will be provided or that funds will be available. We ask for your continued support in communicating these important deadlines widely to ensure applicants have adequate time to prepare and submit their materials. Your partnership has been invaluable, and we appreciate your collaboration during this transition.
