Recycling and Recyclebank

Regist for Recycle Bank

The City of Austell has teamed up with Republic Services and Recyclebank to reward you for home recycling. Recyclebank rewards you for taking everyday green actions – like recycling – with discounts and deals from more than 3,000 local and national businesses. On average, Recyclebank members can earn up to $165 in reward value through their annual recycling efforts.

Here is how it works:

Simply register at and follow the online prompts to verify your home address. You will need to enter a PIN, which you should have received in the mail. If you do not have your PIN, do not worry! You can request a PIN on the website and have it sent to you via text message or mail. Once you receive your PIN, go back to and enter it to complete your registration. You can also call 1-888-727-2978 to register.

Recycle all that you can with your Republic Services recycling cart; it will be collected and weighed along with your neighborhood’s recycling. If you are a Recyclebank member, you will earn points each time you bring your cart to the curb and report your recycling activity to Recyclebank. When you report your activity at or via the iPhone® or BlackBerry® applications, you earn your share of points for that pick-up, which is based on the total amount your neighborhood recycled.

Remember: In order to view and redeem your points, and to report that you have recycled, you must register at or at 1-888-727-2978.

Extra Points!

In addition to your recycling points, there are many other ways to earn even MORE Recyclebank Points:

  • Referring your friends and family
  • Learning about ways to green your lifestyle
  • Taking green pledges

The more points you earn, the more rewards you can get. Redeeming Recyclebank points for rewards can save residents money each time you shop at many national retailers and local businesses right here in Austell. Rewards range from magazine subscriptions to “buy one, get one” deals and gift cards to local businesses and national retailers. We believe that the Recyclebank program is a win-win-win for our residents, local businesses, and the environment.

So do not wait another minute! Register today. You already recycle, now get rewarded for it!

Recycling is contracted through Republic Services, Inc. and is mandatory (effective August 2, 1993) for all residents of the City of Austell. Following is a list of items that BFI will collect: plastics, junk mail, telephone books, catalogs, magazines, cardboard (must be no larger than two feet by two feet) and cereal boxes without inside liners.

Questions or complaints regarding your recycling service should be directed to Monica Moseley with Republic Services at (404) 202-1536.

Recycling is collected the same day as your garbage collection. Your 95-gallon cart must be out at the curbside no later than 7:00 AM for collection. If a holiday falls on your scheduled collection day, then recycling is normally picked up the following work day.

To begin your recycling service, contact the Austell Public Works at (770) 944-4325, option 4, and a recycling bin will be delivered.
